What Is Different About The Protocol?

The 4 Phase Fat Loss Protocol is still about food, however it does involves restriction – for good reason that will serve you in the long term. To succeed, you must have discipline and be organised.

This Protocol is also about education – not only for the mind but also for your body – and that is where the magic happens. Throughout the 4 Phases of the Protocol, your body will change its biochemistry as a result of the foods you are eating and with this your taste buds, cravings, satiety, wants, needs and love for different foods will also change.

Just like you are an individual, so is your body’s nutritional needs. While many diets may help you lose weight, most people put the weight back on, because they haven’t learnt what works for them.

This Protocol is a step-by-step guide to understand what your body needs to lose weight, improve and maintain your health. Learn how to reset and maintain the fats within your body that are needed for mental clarity, hormonal balance and structural well being.

You will be supported along the way, by connecting with our experience Protocol Health Coach via our Facebook group. Connect with others doing the Protocol, which will give to give you inspiration and motivation as you progress through the Phases.

What Are The 4 Phases and what am I eating in each Phase?

The length of your 4 Phase Fat Loss Protocol is completely up to you and should be designed based on the amount of weight you need to lose in each round. The first 3 phases must last from a minimum of 18 days to a maximum of 48 days. Keeping this in mind, we always recommend a goal of 26 days for each of the first 3 phases on your first round, and based on your energy, mood and results, you can then stretch it out to the maximum 48 day regime.

PHASE 1 – Days 1 & 2

Eat as much as you want, focusing on good quality fats such as cream, butter, eggs, coconut oil, nuts, high fat meat and fish etc. This is so much fun!

PHASE 2 & 3 – Days 3 to 24

Eat fruit, salads, vegetable and meat (there is a vegetarian version), in specific quantities. This is where you will begin to lose approximately 300gms on average a day – we’ve seen people lose 2 kg in 24 hours. The stored fat that is being released each day equals approximately 2500 calories of fat and nutrients that your body will use for energy and health. It is important to drink a lot of water to flush out the fat cells.

PHASE 4 – Days 25 to 35

It’s during this phase that you stop counting calories and instead start adding other foods back into your diet again. You will learn about the foods that make you healthy and the foods that cause inflammation and sickness in your body. This is a very important phase that educates you how to have and maintain your ideal healthy weight for life.

This Protocol is for people who have been doing the hard yards with their health, who have changed their diet from a SAD (Standard Australian/American Diet) to a diet free from additives, flavourings and modified packaged foods and want to lose at least 5kg or more. What is in the 4 Phase Fat Loss Support Drops?

The homeopathic Support Drops formula is non steroidal and remains closed and of private dominion. However, dissected molecular components are used along with several vibrational remedy techniques in a sequential combination to establish the link with appropriate messaging frequencies. It is a complex process and the methodology will not be revealed nor the harmonics in the homaccord. Other ingredients include: l-carnitine, ornithine and arginine.

Please note: the 4 Phase Support Drops contain alcohol as a preservative.

Can I do the Protocol with just the Drops?

No, you will need to purchase either the 4 Phase Starter Pack (Drops + online program + hard copy book) or the 4 Phase Complete Pack which is what we recommend to those who have never done the Protocol before (Drops + online program + hard copy book + support ebook +  nutritional support pack).

Do I have to purchase 2 complete packs for my partner/friend?

Yes you can, although to save on costs you could just purchase 1x 4 Phase Complete Pack + an extra bottle of drops as you can share the recommended supplements but you will each need your own bottle of drops.

When should I start the Protocol?

With the exception of menstruating women, you can start your 4 Phase Fat Loss Protocol whenever you want. Before starting, it is important to read the tips and hints sections and to go shopping so that you are prepared mentally and physically.

It is also helpful if you have a buddy or share with your family what you are doing, so you have support throughout the Protocol.

Menstruating women

For women who still menstruate regularly, it is best to start the Protocol the day after your period ends. If this is not possible, it is ok to start at other times of the month as long as you are at least 10 days out from having your period. The important thing is to not have your period fall during Phase 1 or Phase 3, so plan accordingly!

*During menstruation, NO drops are to be taken. Simply continue the diet without the support drops and resume taking the drops again as soon as your period is over. Also, note that weight loss may slow during your period.

I am pregnant, can I do the Protocol?

No, you naturally have HCG production through pregnancy.

I am breast feeding, can I do this Protocol?

No, it is best to wait until you are finished breastfeeding. However, we recommend either our 21 Step Reset Program if you are quite new to Changing Habits, or our Hunter Gatherer Protocol if you have been following us for some time.

I am on various medications, can I do the Protocol?

The drops are homeopathic and they are not known to interfere with any medications. The foods are REAL foods and thus there is nothing within this Protocol to cause any concerns.

I am diabetic, can I do the Protocol?

Yes, however if you are a diabetic, I suggest you monitor your blood glucose very carefully. You will probably need to reduce your insulin, but be vigilant with blood glucose levels and alter as needed. I also suggest that you eat a protein in the morning, such as an egg and three egg whites cooked in an omelette or a piece of meat, chicken or fish – 100gms only. We also strongly advise that you purchase the Complete Pack with the Supreme Green Blend, Colloidal Minerals and Probiotics as this will give you extra energy.

I am vegetarian, can I do the Protocol?

Yes you can but please be aware that your choices of foods will be limited. You will need to replace some of the proteins/meats with eggs, cottage cheese, protein powder (Inca Inchi) and tofu.

I am on Hormone Replacement Therapy, can I do the Protocol?

Yes, it is perfectly safe to do whilst on HRT.

I am on medication for a Thyroid Condition and in the original Dr Simeon’s program, he has a medication warning – can I do this Protocol?

Yes, you can do this program. With the use of homeopathics and not the drug, the thyroid medication warning in Dr Simeon’s book does not follow with how we do it. We added Dr Simeon’s work so you knew where this Protocol came from but a lot has progressed since the 1950’s. He used the actual drug. The homeopathics have no known drug interactions. It has been noted that some people who do have thyroid problems do struggle somewhat on this Protocol, although others have great results. The leptin reset is amazing and that in turn helps your thyroid, although you may have some damage that cannot be repaired due to what you have been through.

I was wondering if the eating plan for the Protocol allows for gluten free and minimal dairy diet? Also what are the main foods required, as I live in a regional area and am not sure I will be able to access some food?

Whilst on the core and transition phase there is no dairy or gluten. It is all about fresh lean meat and lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. You purchase produce that is local and in season, nothing complicated.

I don’t have a great deal of weight to lose, is this Protocol suitable?

The whole 4 Phase Fat Loss Protocol is all about losing fat from fat cells in order to create health and wellbeing and harmony within the body with regards to hormones and all connected with it. The fat cells collectively act as an endocrine organ disrupting other processes in the body. A master hormone called Leptin controls the fine line that should be maintained between food in and food used and food stored. If you have very little fat and you have no weight to lose, do not do the Protocol. Most people have too much fat surrounding their body in stored areas – this releases copious amounts of Leptin which in turn causes Leptin resistance and then everything goes hay wire. The more fat you have, the more leptin in your blood and the more resistance. Instead, if you want to to do something that is cleansing to the the body, we suggest our Hunter Gatherer Protocol.

My work has a zero tolerance level of alcohol. Can I take the 4 Phase Fat Loss drops?

These homeopathic drops contain alcohol as a preservative and do not enter the blood stream, however they will register a positive reading (possibly even over the legal limit) if taken within 5 minutes of a breathalyser test. This is due to the alcohol residue in the mouth. A negative alcohol reading will be reached within 15 minutes of taking the drops.

This goes for all homeopathic formulas with alcohol preservatives as well as alcohol based mouth washes. Therefore, it is recommended not to take drops 15 minutes prior to driving. If you do find yourself having a alcohol breath test, explain you have taken homeopathic drops that are alcohol based and they will re-test you within 20 mins of the first test and you will test negative, providing of course no other alcohol has been consumed.

Cyndi O’Meara – Personal Story

Just over five years ago I embarked on a protocol based on an old 1970’s book called Pounds and Inches By Dr Simeon.   It changed my life in many ways!

I had turned 50 and I noticed over the previous years I was slowly putting on weight despite no change in my diet, I had a niggling constant low back pain, a very sore right hip (thought I would need hip surgery eventually), anxiety at 3am in the morning, brain fog, stiff joints, tight throat and debilitating migraines at least 12 times a year.

I had always done a week long juice cleanse every year for most of my adult life, but I noticed that wasn’t working any more to improve my maladies.  A couple of friends tried the protocol and I was impressed by their results and decided to give it a go.

I have been a nutritionist for 32 years. In fact I’ve been out spoken about not counting calories, to always eat fat (having never supported the low fat diet) and now I was about to delve into a diet that was in contradiction of what I believed.  The one thing I agreed with was that it was real food.  I didn’t agree with some of the foods; such as the melba toasts, grissini and milk, so I decided to just change it to suit the real food mantra.  The reason I was against the wheat products was because they both had additives and that was where I was drawing the line.

I delved into the program and stuck to it rigidly eating lean meat, not a scrap of fat, green leafy vegetables, cruciferous vegetables  and winter fruits all totaling approximately 500 calories a day.

The first three days I was tired and wanted to sleep all day and all night, I struggled with the strict diet regime, I had not dieted since I was 23 when I gave up the notion of dieting for ever.  But I was in crisis and if I continued to do what I’d always done then I was going to continue to have weight gain and maladies.

By day 7 I had lost 4.5kg. Most of my back, hip and joint pain and anxiety was reducing and the tightness in my throat had almost disappeared.  I continued and as each day passed I felt better and better.  On day 10 I had the clearest mind, I had so much clarity that I felt a connection to the universe and the most amazing feeling of euphoria.

By the end of the three weeks I had lost a total of 9kg and was feeling the best I had ever felt, all maladies had disappeared except for my intermittent migraines.

As I began introducing foods back into the diet I noticed one food in particular caused me to gain weight, approximately 700gms over night.  I stopped eating that food and the water weight (as it could not have been fat gain) disappeared the next day.  After several challenges with wheat and the gain in water weight (inflammation) and a few aches in my joints I decided that wheat was not my friend and I have not eaten wheat since that day.

It’s five years on and the weight has stayed off, my aches and pains are gone and my mind is clear without feeling any anxiety.

The one thing that I didn’t get rid of was my migraines.  So I decided to do the protocol again three years after the first I did it.  I found it easier the second time, I only had 3 kg in which I needed to lose, so it wasn’t as dramatic as the first time.  I breezed through the first two weeks, not really losing much weight until the third week. That week I lost 3 kilograms over a couple of days but I also had 5 days of severe migraines, two of the days, I could not get out of my bed.  Then the last 2 days of the 21 days I began to see light at the end of the tunnel again and I was back to normal.  After that last migraine over 2 years ago I have not had another headache or migraine.  

Over the past five years I have eaten a diet rich in whole real foods that I mainly make from scratch devoid of all wheat and wheat products and I feel better now in my mid  50’s than I ever did in my 40’s.

I have also done a lot of research as to why this protocol works so well.  

The first thing I learnt about was Leptin, the master hormone, the petrol tank gauge.  When we are within approximately 5kg either side of our ideal weight Leptin works to control other hormones including our sex hormones and appetite hormones.  If we go outside that parameter then things begin to go pear shaped.  

Fat cells produce Leptin, the more fat you have the more leptin you produce, it’s a feed back system.  In the summer by eating fatty meats and sweet fruits we would put on weight, leptin production would increase and so would our sex hormones.  This was the time to get pregnant (speaking in evolutionary terms and for the perpetuation of the species).  During the winter months we would eat far less including lean meats, small amounts and green leafy vegetables, winter fruits and if nuts and seeds were available we would also eat them.  

If the woman were pregnant the hormone hCG would be released in order to release fat stores to be consumed when food was scarce, this ensured the survival of mother and baby.  For the men and the non pregnant women and children small amounts of hCG are produced in lean times to help survival.

There was an ebb and flow in the seasons, there was time to store fat and time to release fat.  So when we say that we are only consuming 500 calories on the 4 Phase Fat Elimination Protocol, we are actually eating 500 calories but approximately using 2000 calories per day of our fat stores (food we have eaten previously that we were unable to use).  

So it is by no means a low fat, low calorie regime.  In fact the body is receiving more fat and more calories during the second phase in order to sustain us.  This is by no means a dangerous low calorie diet but rather one that allows you to use up the fat stores that should be used up on a yearly basis.

When we have excess fat, Leptin is produced in large amounts. The more fat, the more leptin we have and if this continues we become leptin resistant, much like insulin resistance.  

When you are leptin resistant the body believes it is starving and so it engages the appetite hormones to make you eat more and more.  When you eat more, you continue to put on stored fat which means more leptin which means more appetite.  It’s a vicious cycle and it’s important to reduce fat stores in order to be able to control over eating.  You see it’s not about will power it is about your bodies need to survive.  The abnormal amount of fat stores is what causes the break down in correct communication to the petrol gauge (leptin).

Let’s also look at what else fat does for the body.  It is a storage place for toxins (cellulite is a great visual for that).  So if we look at our evolutionary past we may have been exposed to heavy metals in our drinking water, volcano eruptions, radiation due to being outside all day and so on.  If the body was not able to rid itself of the toxins using the first two lines of defense which are the microbiome and blood, the body would store the toxins in the fat cells ready to be discharged when we release the stored fat.

The problem is that in modern day there is no winter when it comes to food, we continue to eat food without releasing the fat and the toxins and so over many decades we build up so many toxins in our body which relates into maladies and health issues.  Then instead of looking to nature to heal we take medications to dull the symptoms, but until you go back to the way your evolutionary body was designed you will never get better.

For me the last 3 kg of weight, which were the hardest to move were probably the most toxic and what was causing my migraines to keep coming back over and over.  Once I had removed this toxic fat I was free from the problem.

Modern living has stopped the ebb and flow of this natural process. We have a planet that contains food that is sprayed with chemicals, our homes emit chemicals and we are definitely more toxic than we have ever been.  As a result there are times I believe that people should not do this protocol, such as women who are pregnant or breast feeding, people who have no weight to lose and athletes who undertake heavy exercise.

The reason I don’t like pregnant women and breast feeding women to do the protocol is because you will release a lot of toxins and we would prefer not to overload an unborn baby or new baby.  If you have no fat or weight to lose then this does not work and if you are an athlete we do not recommend it due to the fact winter was a time of less movement and exercise for our ancestors, it was a time of preservation.

I am also hesitant to recommend this diet for people with severe GUT issues and if you have thyroid issues I would recommend the $47 30 minute Health Review with my nutritionists in order for them to either agree for you to do the protocol or perhaps you may need to do another protocol.
