I was disappointed when this cookbook arrived, as the product description doesn’t say that a very large number of the recipes require Kultured Wellness cultures. I found that is much more of a recipe book to use Kultured Wellness products than the general gut health cook book I was expecting In order to get the most from this book I now need to buy 2 starter cultures for $80. I think that book is best suited to someone already to using the cultures and looking for new recipe ideas.
The research information part of the book is 2 pages long, plus a little paragraph at the start of each chapter.
However the book is beautifully styled, and in fairness there are a number of meat and veggie type recipes that look really delicious and that don’t require the cultures.

      Hi Angela,
I’m so sorry for any confusion. Because the cookbook focuses on gut health, many of the recipes do use the Kultured Wellness starter cultures as they’re incredibly rich in health-giving probiotics to support gut health and gut issues. If you’re looking to improve your own gut health, then I highly recommend them as they contain an extremely high probiotic count. They are suitable for those on a GAPS, FODMAP, vegan, paleo or sugar-free diets. They aid in reducing inflammation, food sensitivities, histamine issues and those who suffer from anxiety and depression to autoimmune disease to skin issues to digestive problems. As you’ll see throughout the recipe book they’re incredibly versatile as you can use them to make fermented cashew cheese, juices, ice blocks, curries, smoothies, cheesecakes, fermented veggies and so much more. It’s a short-term investment for long-term health and as they play a big part in gut health, we have based most of the recipes around them. As you point out, we have included some recipes that don’t require the cultures, but we do stress that cultures are extremely gut-friendly. If you are after any specific information regarding gut health, you might like to read through the Changing Habits blogs or feel free to contact our office.
      Kindest regards, Jordan 🙂
