Our story… why we use and supply pure Himalayan Salt
When researching natural salt supplies to include in our real food range, Cyndi wanted to use a salt that wasn’t sources from the oceans due to polluted. Our Seaweed Salt is a land-based salt which is hand mined with no refining, bleaching or anti-caking agents added. Wanting to naturally iodise the salt using a real food rather than a man-made product, Cyndi researched and added organic Dulse (seaweed) powder to the salt.
History of Himalayan salt
Himalayan Salt is rock salt or halite found in the nutrient rich veins flowing beneath the salt mountains in the Himalayan foothills of Pakistan. The salt from this region was formed about 250 million years ago when the region was dried by the heat of the sun. The salt sometimes occurs in a reddish or pink color, with some crystals having an off-white to transparent colour.
