Golden Bread Buns

This recipe has been slightly adapted from Diet Doctor Low Carb Buns recipe. We wanted to add a little Changing Habits twist so we added in our turmeric powder and it resulted in these gorgeous anti-inflammatory golden bread buns.

 1 1/4 cups almond meal
 5 Tbsp psyllium husk
 2 tsp baking powder
 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
 1/2 tsp Changing Habits Seaweed Salt
 1/4 tsp black pepper
 3 egg whites
 1 tsp Changing Habits Turmeric Powder
 1 1/4 cups boiling water
 Sesame seeds to sprinkle on top

Preheat oven to 170C.


Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.


Add the egg whites, boiling water and apple cider vinegar to the dry ingredients and blend together with a hand beater or food processor until the mixture is combined and thickens nicely. This will only take 30 seconds to a minute. This mixture will be a little sticky at this stage.


Set this aside for a few minutes and allow the psyllium to soak up the liquid.


Once the dough is ready, oil your hands with coconut oil and separate the dough into 6 balls.


Place them onto a lined baking tray and place in the oven to bake for 1 hour, or until the middle has been cooked through.


Remove them from the oven and allow to cool.


Store in an air tight container.
