Simple Seasonal Smoothy Bowl

by | Apr 26, 2016 | 0 comments

Basically, a smoothy bowl is just an extra thick smoothy. The great thing about smoothy bowls is that you can get creative as you like and you can use any combination of flavours and ingredients. Whenever fruit is getting a bit older, perhaps discolouring and bruising, chop it up and place it in containers or ziplock bags and put it into the freezer. They make a really quick addition to smoothies or smoothy bowls making it nice and cold and adds a smoothy, creamy texture and also allows it to ’thicken'.

Yields1 ServingPrep Time10 minsDifficultyBeginner
 1x frozen banana, chopped
 1 x frozen mango, chopped
 1/2 cup frozen berries
1 cup coconut milk, cream, yoghurt, nut milk or Kultured Wellness Coconut Yoghurt (for additional probiotics)
12 tbsp raw honey, nutmeg, vanilla, other fruits, spinach leaves, orange zest, coconut oil etc.
Garnish
Berries of your choice, we used strawberries
23 tbsp homemade muesli we used Grain Free Cinnamon Muesli
Additional Changing Habits Ceylon Cinnamon for dusting
1

Add all the Smoothy bowl ingredients into a blender, food processor or thermomix and blitz to combine.

2

Taste the mixture and adjust if needed. If you like your smoothy bowl thicker, add extra frozen fruits, avocado or coconut cream to thicken it up. If it is too thick then gradually add a bit more milk of your choice until you reach your desired consistency.

3

When it’s ready, scoop or pour into a bowl and top with the garnishes.

4

Enjoy!
