This month's recipe is Chia Milk. For a delicious smoothie blend 500g homemade chia milk, a splash of pure maple syrup to taste and 1 banana peeled, (or fruit of your choice) for 20 seconds on high speed. It's also important to soak the nuts overnight to remove phytates and enzyme inhibitors.

Yields1 ServingDifficultyBeginner
30g Macadamia nuts (or use almonds/walnuts or other nuts of your choice)
 Extra water, to soak nuts
 30g chia seeds
 1250g filtered water
10g raw tahini or sesame seeds
30g unfiltered, unheated honey (Organic if possible)
Method
1

In a glass jar, soak the chia seeds in 750g of the water overnight.

2

In a separate bowl, soak the macadamia nuts in approximately double the water to nuts and leave overnight

No Thermomix Method
3

The next day discard the water from the nuts and rinse the nuts in clean water

4

Pour the chia seeds and water that you soaked overnight as well as the nuts into a good quality blender and blend on high for 1 minute.

5

Add the remaining ingredients including the last 500g water and blend for approximately 30 sec or until well combined.
