Kongee is an oriental dish that revitalizes the body at breakfast and during times of illness.

 1 cup brown rice
 8 cups filtered water
 1 tsp Changing Habits Seaweed Salt or 1 strip of kombu cut

Dry roast and brown the rice in a heavy based fry pan.

Stir continuously so that the rice doesn't burn, it takes around 10 Minutes.

Put the roasted rice into a saucepan and add the salt/kombu and water; bring to the boil and simmer until all the water is absorbed. Takes around 2 hours.

Suggested Serving - Sweet Option: with stewed fruit, fresh crushed nuts, homemade kefir or yogurt for a delicious, energy and health giving breakfast. Savoury Option: with shallots, mushrooms, garlic, chilli, seaweed, fried egg, shredded meat, vegetables or herbs on top.
