Fermented Cucumbers

Fermented cucumbers make an excellent snack or addition to fresh salalds. By using the Kultured Wellness Starter Culture this encourages lots of beneficial bacteria to thrive and grow, you can not only eat the cucumbers, but you can also use the liquid in dips, salad dressings and for other fermented veggies too.

 6-8 small organic cucumbers sliced into 4-6 long strips
 1 cup Kultured Wellness Coconut Water Kefir
 Filtered Water
 Optional ingredients for additional flavour: Changing Habits Pepper, chilli, garlic cloves, mustard seeds, fresh dill or other fresh herbs, a good splash of apple cider vinegar

Slice the cucumbers into long strips and place them into a clean 1.2 - 1.5 L glass jar.

Add the kefir, salt and any of your other chosen ingredients and top with filtered water so the cucumbers are submerged under the liquid.

Close the lid tightly and allow them to ferment on a shelf in your pantry for 12-24 hours.

When they're ready pop the jar in the fridge.
