Turmeric & BBQ spiced Roast Chicken

Have you read the ingredients list of a store brought roasted or marinated chicken? After you do you will never purchase another convenient chicken again. Why would you anyways when home cooked tastes so much better and you know what you are eating. Why not experiment with some different spices and rubs and get a gorgeous tasting chicken every time!

Yields1 Serving
 1x organic, free-range chicken
 2 tbsp coconut oil
 1 tsp cracked Changing Habits Pepper
 1 tsp paprika powder
 Chili flakes to taste

Preheat the oven to 180C.

Mix all the spices, salt and pepper together in a bowl, and combine with a fork.

Place the chicken in a baking tray or dish and cover with the coconut oil.

Sprinkle the spice mix over the top and use your hands to rub the oil and spices all over the chicken evenly.

Place the chicken in the oven and cook for 1 ¼ hours to 2 hours, the time will depend on the size of your chicken and your oven. The chicken is ready when golden, and when the chicken juices run clear.

Remove from oven and allow to rest for 15 Minutes to 20 Minutes

Meanwhile prepare either some veggies or a fresh salad to serve with the chicken.

Begin plating when everything is ready, serve and enjoy!
