WEEK 4: 22 - 31 OCTOBER
How do we set ourselves on a path to vitality? Being the healthiest and highest version of yourself sounds wonderful in theory, but have you ever wondered why one person reads a book, goes to a seminar, does a program, starts a new habit, and is able to change their life around, yet another person who reads the same book, goes to the same seminar, does the same program and begins the same new habit ends up changing nothing long-term? Join us as we explore the importance of food, sunshine, movement and more in achieving long-term energy and health.
Reconnecting To Your Food, Body, Health & Spirituality

10 SIMPLE TIPS TO BOOST YOUR IMMUNITY
My health has always been my responsibility and in times like this I know why. Food has always been something that I spend more on compared with anything else I choose to do. Movement, sleep and daily rituals ensure my body – although living in a modern world – has the ingredients to meet its evolutionary needs.
If current events have you considering your immunity, here are some tips to help boost your health – which is important at all times, not just in a crisis. Slowly implementing these 10 immune boosting tips will not only improve your immune system but your whole physical and mental well-being – check it out now!
Mechanism vs Vitalism
Vitalism is the idea that the body and all it’s surroundings are connected and exist as a whole.
Mechanism is a way of looking at the parts of the body individually and treating them as such, if there’s an issue with your heart you go to a cardio surgeon for example.
Where there is one philosophy there is always an opposing, but when it comes to our health, is it better to follow mechanism or vitalism? Do we have to choose one or the other or do they both have a place? Consider how your body functions as Cyndi discusses how these philosophies can co exist.

The brain and gut are in a constant feedback loop made up of millions of neurons, chemicals, and hormones known as the ‘gut-brain axis’ – Yep! The bacteria in your gut has been shown to directly affect the brain. In fact, both probiotics and prebiotics have been shown to reduce levels of anxiety, stress and depression. If you look after your gut, it will help to look after you, so join us as we explore the gut-brain axis and the foods beneficial to your mental health.
October 10th is World Mental Health Day.

DIET AND LIFESTYLE FACTORS FOR A HEALTHY MIND AND BODY
Did you know that the gut (gastrointestinal tract) is sometimes referred to as our ‘second brain’? A large network of neurons, chemicals, and hormones constantly provide feedback from the gut to the brain, letting us know not only when we are hungry or thirsty, but also when we are stressed.
It’s true that changing your diet is not easy, but it is rewarding. Taking control of your own life and making the changes that are necessary is one of the most important steps you can take in order to get well, both mentally and physically.

“Modern foods will challenge your body, not heal and nourish it”
– Cyndi O’Meara
Read Cyndi’s book Lab to Table and become informed about how the industry are growing, processing, adding and doing to many foods in the grocery store. At the end of each chapter, there are actionable steps to make changes to your pantry, fridge, cooking and thus health.
Do you really know where your food is coming from? And even if so, why does it matter? How your food is grown, produced and even transported can have a HUGE impact on the nutritional value, taste and potentially contain nasty side affects for your health. The modern industry of food has come with the normalisation of chemicals like herbicides and pesticides being overused and harsh industrial farming methods, all of which are harmful to not only our health but the health and longevity of the environment we live in. Join us this week as we uncover some of the most important factors to making the best food choices with the best impact.
Navigating The Supermarket and Understanding What’s In Your Pantry
How do you make healthy choices at the supermarket? And do you know what actual ingredients are in your pantry? Cyndi address how to navigate around the supermarket and make the best choices – plus with more time to cook, we can start ditching the processed foods and creating more of a one ingredient pantry. It’s all about reading the ingredients, not all the marketing and packaging.
Direct from our Know Better, Eat Better YouTube series, Cyndi discusses the quick and easy ways you can know what’s already in your pantry and how to shop for real foods. Giving you the best chance at cooking healthier meals and nourishing your body better.
A SYNTHETIC ROUTE TO NATURAL – DON’T BE A LAB RAT!
It’s important not to be cajoled by marketing speak when it comes to the foods you are putting into your body: even products that say they are natural, gluten free, paleo, vegan, plant based and keto can have biotechnological-derived additives. But how can you know what’s what? Check out this blog as Cyndi answers explores the meaning behind synthetic biology, bioengineering, bio-design and biotechnology.
It’s up to you to decide whether you want to be a lab rat or make better choices for your table by eating real foods, purchased at your local farmers market, grown by regenerative agricultural methods, and then getting back into the kitchen to feed and nourish your family to heal this nation.
Changing Habits Farm – Regenerative Farming, Hope for the Future
Meat Brogan O-Meara! Our Changing Habits Regenerative Farmer.
Over the years Mother Nature has been mistreated with chemicals that simply aren’t sustainable for the land and soils we need to grow our food.
Regenerative farming is the way of the future, not only for our health, but for the health of the planet. At our Changing Habits farm, Brogan uses a range of methods to ensure a mutually beneficial ecosystem among all plants and animals.
- Biodynamics
- Syntropics
- Natural Sequence Farming
- Regenerative Farming
FOOD IRRADIATION – WHY I SAY ‘NO’
Do you know the symbol for irradiation? Modern farming methods use chemicals to destroy pests and weeds. These chemicals (and more specifically glyphosate) not only kill a broad spectrum of weeds, but also kill the natural ecology of the soil, weakening the plants and animals that grow on the soil, thus the need for more and more pesticides to protect the plants and animals.
When we irradiate our fresh fruits and vegetables that are still around today, our seeds within these foods become unviable, therefore we can’t save seeds and grow our own foods. According to Cyndi, the war on germs has gone unchecked, hit the button below to read her blog on the future of growing foods.
