With so many new members to welcome into our Fat Loss Protocol family, I thought I’d do a blog about our support drops. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions:
What is in the Fat Loss Support drops?
As of this date, our formula remains of private dominion, however its ingredients include: l-carnitine, ornithine and arginine. These ingredients complement our fat loss by assisting our bodies with energy production, reducing levels of fatigue and aiding in the release of hormones. Our drops are free from man-made chemicals and drugs, however they do contain alcohol to act as a preservative. We recommend you do not take these drops if you have any sensitivities to alcohol, if you are an alcoholic/recovering alcoholic, or if you are pregnant.
Where and how are the drops made?
We are proud to say that our drops are produced in Australia. Each batch of drops is closely monitored by the producer to ensure that the quality and integrity that we are renowned for is maintained.
When do I take the drops?
You start taking the drops from your very first day on the program – Phase 1, Day 1. You then continue to take them throughout Phases 1 and 2.
When do I stop taking the drops?
We suggest you stop taking the drops for the first/heaviest 3 days of your period (as long as you have already been taking the drops for a minimum of 10 days prior). You must also stop taking the drops during Phase 3 and 4.
I am taking medication – is it safe to take the drops?
There are no known contraindications between our drops and any medication. Because our drops are homeopathic they should have no effect on your medication, however please continue with monitoring by your chosen health practitioner, as we regularly see clients who need to have their medication doses lowered or ceased all together. We suggest you always do this under medical guidance.
I have a headache/don’t feel well, could it be the drops?
There are any number of reasons why you may be suffering headaches, fatigue, nausea or just feel plain lousy while taking the drops. However, unless you have any sensitivity or intolerance to alcohol, it is highly unlikely to be the drops that are causing your symptoms. If you are in Phase 1 it is likely that you are simply consuming a lot of something that is inflammatory to your body (you will find out for sure when you start testing foods in P4/P4ever). If you are in Phase 2 it is likely that you are experiencing the symptoms of detox and withdrawal. If this is the case, your symptoms should only last the first week or two. Some people also feel quite horrible as they first go into ketosis and experience what is known as ‘keto flu’. Other possible causes are not enough water, a sensitivity to one or more ingredients in our supplements, a virus or a sudden change in diet.
My cycle has become irregular since taking the drops. Could the drops be affecting my hormones?
The drops themselves will not affect your hormones as they are not a hormone-based product. Having said this, our adipose/fat tissue actually produces and stores hormones. When we strip these abnormal fat stores at a rapid rate, it can cause a temporary adjustment in your hormones so you may notice breakthrough bleeding/spotting if you are a menstruating woman, or if you are post menopausal it is also not uncommon for your cycle to return for a month or two. All these changes generally rectify very quickly, and you may find yourself surprised to note that your cycle has aligned with the moon cycle – something we very commonly see when people are eating as our bodies were designed to do. If your hormonal issues do not taper off in Phase 2, we do notice that for most people, the majority will settle in Phase 4 when the rapid fat loss has ceased. If you are at all concerned please check in with your chosen health practitioner.
My hair is falling out, are the drops causing this?
The drops themselves will not cause your hair to fall out, however there are some things that can cause this that may be applicable to you while doing our program. Hair loss typically begins 3 months after the ‘root’ cause (pun intended) of the problem, which can be any emotional or physical stress our bodies are under, various vitamin and nutritional deficiencies and things like surgeries and illness, etc. Sudden, rapid weight loss can be a stress to the body that may result in hair loss, particularly if you hadn’t been eating a nutritious diet in the lead up to starting the protocol. I would suggest you make it a priority to take your supplements daily, drink plenty of water, get plenty of rest and if your hair loss doesn’t settle down within a few months, have some testing done to see if you can find any underlying deficiencies that may be contributing to the problem.
When I take the drops I notice a burning sensation under my tongue, am I allergic to the drops?
Unless you have an allergy to alcohol, it is highly unlikely that you are experiencing an allergic reaction to the drops. It is far more likely that the alcohol used to preserve the drops is creating a temporary stinging sensation under your tongue.
Can I take the drops and eat different foods that aren’t on the allowed foods list if I stick to under 500 calories?
The short answer is no. Our wonderful program has been designed very specifically for your health and for best results. The only way to achieve good health and results is to follow the plan exactly as it is written. This program isn’t so much about the calories, as it is about the very precise type and measurement of each food, which has been nutritionally evaluated for its suitability.
I am breastfeeding – can I take the drops?
Unfortunately you cannot take the drops while breastfeeding. This doesn’t matter if you have a cluster-feeding newborn, or a once-per-day comfort feeding toddler.
Where do I store my drops?
We suggest you store your drops in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from electro magnetic fields. Generally, in the bathroom cupboard is a good place to keep them. We do not recommend you store them in a refrigerator or near a microwave.
I hope this helps to answer some of your more pressing questions in regards to our drops! If you have any further questions, please email Leanne or I at coach@changinghabits.com.au
Yours in health and happiness!
Hi, Have you changed the formula for the support drops as they taste very weak compared to every other time I have used these?
Hi Sharon, we have changed our ethanol provider which is why the taste has changed. The amount of ethanol used is still the same just with a different taste. The ethanol is just a preservative and not an active ingredient in the bottle, so the effectiveness of the drops is exactly the same. Hope this helps.
Hi Mel,
I did this protocol over ten years ago has the foods aloud lists changed?
Penelope
Hi Penelope, the allowed foods list has been updated since that time! You can find the updated list in the files section of the FLP Facebook group, otherwise you can email support@changinghabits.com.au and we can assist you there 🙂
Hi, I’ve just bought the refill package but have the book from three years ago, the new drops say take in water but my book says drop under tongue?? Any help would be great please as I’m just about to start a round
Hi Tiffany, you can take the drops either way 🙂
So just to clarify, you can just do one dosage of 10 drops in water, or the other under the tongue options spread out over the day?
Also can people who have had gastric sleeve surgery still do the drops?
Hi Tiffany, with the new bottle of drops you will be having 6 drops three times a day, or 9 drops twice a day. You can either have the drops in water or under the tongue. We have had lots of people who have had gastric sleeve surgery do the protocol and have had great results. Our protocol coaches are there to provide support and guidance along the way if needed 🙂
