Healthy Holiday Season Recipes

It’s the holiday season once again and we all know that that means a little extra socialising and a lot more food!

We truly love that food is something that brings people together, and we know that it can feel a little daunting knowing that there’ll be all sorts of temptations or dishes that may not agree with you on the tables of our friends and families this year. But, we love seeing the silly season as an opportunity to get creative in the kitchen and a fantastic example of how you can stay on track with your intake, whilst still enjoying yourself!

The following is a collection of our absolute favourite recipes that deserve a spot on the Christmas table, are easy to make, whole food-centred, and of course, delicious. Let’s go!

Starters, Sides & Salads

We think avocado should have a place at the table all year round and the holidays are no exception! This side dish is a fresh, zingy and healthy addition to any table, picnic or BBQ. Our Marinated Salmon, avocado and tomato salad is definitely going to be a staple on your menu!

Whilst we do love a show stopping turkey or leg of ham as the centre-piece of any festive table, we also love the idea of mixing things up a little and opting for something a little surprising over the holidays! If you’re game enough to challenge the traditionalists these recipes are for you! First cab off the rank is our Crumbed Salmon with Pomegranate and Goats Cheese Salad – this recipe is fresh, tasty and easy to scale up portion wise!

For something a little bit different, try our Slow Cooked Mediterranean Chicken. Why do we love this one so much? Not only because it’s a set and forget recipe with minimal washing up, it’s bright, tasty, goes far portion wise, and pairs really well with any simple green, crunchy salad.

The part you’ve all been waiting for! We couldn’t pick a favourite because honestly, they’re all winners! In no particular order, our healthy sweet treats menu goes a little something like this..

Our Chocolate Truffles – little mouthfuls of heaven! You might want to make a little extra because your friends and family will be begging you to make these again!

Our Chocolate Orange Mousse – hot tip – served in little ramekins or shot glasses with a grating of orange zest on top – these are the perfect little chocolatey mouthful for the masses!

Our decadent and crumbly Macadamia & White Chocolate Cookies will have everyone reaching over the table!
