Refreshing, cleansing, cucumber smoothieBy TessaCucumbers are one of the richest sources of the mineral silicon, along with lettuce and the Changing Habits Colloidal Minerals. Silicon is sometimes a forgotten mineral, though it is very important. It promotes luscious hair and glowing skin. It helps in opening up your pores to let out toxins and grime, is vital for cellular growth (especially for hair and removal of dead skin cells), promotes blood circulation and the formation of red blood cells.

Beet KvassBy TessaBeet Kvass is comprised of simple ingredients and is easy to make through the process of wild fermentation. The fermentation process enhances the already strong nutritional profile of raw beetroot, increasing levels of food enzymes and B vitamins (particularly folate). Beet Kvass is full of beneficial bacteria which support immunity and digestive health.
Carrot and Banana MuffinsBy TessaA beautiful snack to accompany your lunch, for dessert or to enjoy with your loved ones. This mix has a whopping 3 cups of carrot. Just 1 medium carrot supplies you with 210% of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin A. The Vitamin A in carrots is coming from beta carotene, which is converted into Vitamin A in your liver. Vitamin A is particularly good for cancer prevention, is overall immune boosting and has the potential to prevent vision loss.

Roasted Shoulder of Lamb – by Jamie OliverBy Tessa

Bones left in our meat, as they slowly cook, allows all the nutrition of the bone to come out. It not only flavours the meat, but also allows the body a rush of nutrition that heals the gut and nourishes the body. Lamb shanks, oxtail soup, chicken broth soup and osso bucco are treasures in our household.

Goat CurryBy TessaThis is divine on a cool day - very warming and nourishing
SauerkrautBy Tessa

If you have been following Changing Habits for a while, you will already be aware of how much we love fermented, gut loving foods. Here's another one. We all love sauerkraut and the benefits it gives. When foods are fermented, the vitamin and mineral content dramatically increases, particularly vitamin C and B vitamins. Sauerkraut provides you with 600 times the vitamin C content to what the cabbage had before fermenting, for example.
