Maleo is a fancy and exotic word i like to use instead of Rapadura Syrup. Maleo is so quick and easy to make. I use it in replace of honey, maple syrup (if i have none), agave, rice syrup and coconut syrup (very expensive).
After you make your own vanilla essence you will never go back to the shop bought imitation junk with additives like corn syrup, thickeners, artificial colours, caramel colour, stabilisers and fake vanilla in the form of vanillin made from the petroleum and wood pulp industry.

This dressing brightens up any salad. You could simply steam some organic, free range chicken and make a salad with vegetables, depending on the season you're currently in and what is available at your local farmers market. Right now it's spring, so throw some chopped lettuce and/or cabbage, broccoli, cucumber, sugar snap peas, tomato and zucchini together, and top with avocado. Drizzle the Chilli Lime Dressing over the top. Divine!
Let me explain what broth is and why it's so good for you. When you cook meat, bones, bone marrow and connective tissues in filtered water for a few hours you get broth. The flavour, nutrients and minerals from the bones migrate into the water making a wonderfully warming, nourishing and healing broth drink. Broth is packed full of minerals including a rich source of calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium and sulfur. Bone broth also helps maintain and rebuild the structure of our bodies. Another nutritional benefit to drinking broth is the gelatin which is leached from the animal bones during the cooking process. Gelatin is incredibly healing for the digestive tract as broth works towards normalizing digestion and makes foods cooked in broth easier to digest. Other benefits of drinking gelatinous rich broth include strengthening hair and nails, reducing, preventing and healing cellulite and wrinkles.
If you have been following Changing Habits for a while, you will already be aware of how much we love fermented, gut loving foods. Here's another one. We all love sauerkraut and the benefits it gives. When foods are fermented, the vitamin and mineral content dramatically increases, particularly vitamin C and B vitamins. Sauerkraut provides you with 600 times the vitamin C content to what the cabbage had before fermenting, for example.
This spaghetti sauce is such a beautiful meal and is so easy to make.
